Make your music available on the world's most popular music streaming service
Spotify boasts over 10 million active monthly users, and it's growing fast. Having had great success in Europe, Spotify made a big splash in the U.S. when it launched in July (2011).
Spotify is tied directly into Facebook. When a fan listens to your track on Spotify, a notification is posted to the listener's Facebook feed. So every listen exposes your music to a wider audience. Spotify also makes it easy for users to share songs on Twitter, send songs to their friends on Spotify, and create playlists.
How do I get my music on Spotify?
Easy. Sign up here*. CD Baby has been helping musicians distribute music for over 12 years. We'll get your music selling on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Google Play and dozens of other services. You will also be able to sell on Facebook with our new Facebook MusicStore. We'll help you sell your CDs and vinyl too!
*Note: You must select the "everything that pays" distribution option in your CD Baby account in order to get delivered to Spotify.
How does Spotify pay?
Spotify is primarily an Internet radio station, but does sell tracks in some countries. You will be paid a small streaming fee (less than a penny) when your song is listened to and about 70%* of the asking price on song downloads. CD Baby keeps just 9% of your earnings. The more your music is shared, the more money you make.
*Because of contractual obligations we can't post actual payout amounts, but you will be able to see payments in your account.
